NDA & NA Exam 2016

Full form of NDA & NA Exam is National Defence Academy &Naval Academy exam. It is more popular by name- NDA EXAM. It is a combined written exam through which UPSC select young candidates or better say future officers for Army, Navy &Air Force wings of Indian defence.

UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conduct NDA exam twice in a year. Candidates those passed or appearing 12th standard exam are eligible to appear for NDA recruitment test. Candidates can take NDA Exam only after 12th class.

After passing NDA written test, all written qualified candidates appear for SSB interview at various SSB centers. SSB Recommended & medically examination passed candidates join National Defence Academy located at Khadakwasla (Pune), Maharashtra. At NDA, Candidates undergo a very tough training for approximately 3 years (6 semesters). The first 2.5 years training is common for all three wings. After that the Army selected cadets go to IMA (Dehradun)for 1-year further training, Navel cadets  to Naval Academy(Ezhimala)for 1-year naval training and Air Force cadets to AFA(Hyderabad) for further 1½year  flying training course.

NDA 2016 Written Exam Eligibility Criteria:

Indian Defence Wing Educational Qualifications Age Limits
For Air Force wing 12th pass with Physics & Mathematics or equivalent 16½-19½Years
For Naval wing 12th pass with Physics & Mathematics or equivalent 16½-19½Years
For Army wing 12th class pass or equivalent 16½-19½Years

NDA 2016 Written Exam Pattern

Written test of NDA will consist of 2 questions papers i.e. Mathematics & General Ability Test (GAT). Mathematics paper will carry 300 marks and GAT paper will be of 600 marks. 2nd paper is further divided into two parts-part 1 & part 2. Part 1 is English (200 marks) and Part 2-General Knowledge (400 marks)

NOTES: Written paper of NDA exam consist of total 900 marks and SSB interview also consist of equal marks i.e. 900 marks. All India Merit List is made on basis of marks scored out of 1800 marks.

NDA 2016 Written Exam Syllabus:

Mathematics==>> Algebra, Matrices and Determinants, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus and Differential equations, Vector, Algebra, Statistics, Probability

General Ability (English+ General studies)==>> The English paper covers these topics to test the candidate’s proficiency in English: Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion in extended text.

General Knowledge==>> The question paper on General Knowledge will broadly cover the following subjects: General Science, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Social Studies and Current Events.
